What is a PDO Thread lift ?

PDO threads are a unique technique that stimulates collagen production in treated areas. Thread lifts are a relatively new form of non-surgical face lift. There are no cuts or incisions, just injections which place a medical grade dissolvable suture into the skin.

this treatment is not suitable if :

You have active acne/broken skin or are prone to cold sores

You have taken anti-coagulation medications such as aspirin/warfarin/heparin or have consumed alcohol within 48 hours of the treatment (we advise you to continue taking prescribed medications, but stop taking some complimentary supplements such as Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin C and E, Garlic and Gingko prior to treatment).

You are pregnant, undergoing IVF or breastfeeding

You have an auto immune disease, diabetes or infection.

You have fragile, thin or damaged skin

What Results can I Expect?

Thread-lift treatments result in an instant and natural looking improvement in the appearance of the skin. A process of natural protein synthesis then begins after about 21 days. Over the subsequent week's results will continue to improve, peaking at around 6 months and lasting for up to 2 years as your own body produces collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Making this form of non-surgical facelift a very long lasting treatment. The thread itself is completely biodegradable and dissolves within 12 weeks, after which new collagen has formed around the thread to continue to support results, maintaining a smooth and supple texture of the skin.

Threads can be used in a number of areas on the face, neck and body.

There are some risks related to PDO procedure, as with any aesthetic procedure. Complications of PDO threads are rare and usually self- limiting, but include the following:

Discomfort: Slight tightening sensation as new collagen is produced and around the threads. This may last for 2 weeks

Bruising: Occasionally the needle may puncture a small blood vessel resulting in a bruise

Swelling and redness: This may result following the procedure due to injection with needle

Scarring: Scarring may result from multiple injections, but this is very unlikely

Allergic reactions: Although exceedingly rare, the possibility of an allergic reaction

Infection: Since Threads procedure involves injections; there is a theoretical risk of developing infection at the injection site. This is also exceedingly rare

Discolouration: Transient or permanent skin pigmentation changes can sometimes occur at the injection sites

The Practitioner has fully informed me and I understand that the results of PDO threads are individual and vary depending on the area treated, skin type. Therefore, no guarantee can be made as to the results of my treatment

I understand that the effects of the treatment with these products can last on average up to 36 months or more with complete treatment. Touch up and follow up treatments may be needed to sustain the desired degree of the treatment

I understand that full results may not be seen until at least 6 months from the treatment being performed due to the time needed for collagen production to occur.

I agree that this contributes full disclosure, and that it supersedes any previous verbal disclosures

I understand that this treatment is strictly for cosmetic purposes and will not be covered by insurance

I understand that I am responsible for all costs payable at the time of service and I pay for treatment not the outcome
